A mobile hotspot (also known as a portable hotspot) is an electronic device that connects to the internet and imparts a wireless connection to your phone, computer, laptop, TV or game console. Mobile hotspots convert LTE signal and emits a Wi-Fi signal to our connected devices.

In other words, a portable hotspot has the ability to give you an internet connection in a place that you would typically not have any access, or in a place where you would be limited to only having phone-internet access.

Mobile hotspots can be a simple device without many features. On the other hand, it can be a complex and detailed device with a multitude of characteristics. Some hotspots can link to only 1 device at a time. Or, there are devices, like the Unite Pro 781, that connect up to 15 devices to the internet at the same time. There are hotspots with simple designs and then classy hotspots like the Nighthawk.

In short, there are many types of hotspots. Here at Mr Aberthon, we sifted through a multitude of portable hotspot devices and narrowed our collection to the very best hotspots on the market.

Why would I need a mobile hotspot?

There are many reasons that our customers would need a hotspot. Enumerating them all would be quite a feat. We will list the most popular reasons that we’ve come across. We’ve devided the list into pleasure and business:

Hotspots for pleasure:

  • Using the internet while on vacation without wasting your phone battery and/or data.
  • Avoiding roaming fees
  • Using the internet while out of town and/or overseas
  • Linking up gaming console to a different IP address
  • Faster internet connection
  • Reliable long-life battery power

Hotspot for business:

  • Using the internet while on business trip without wasting your phone battery and/or data.
  • Avoiding roaming fees
  • Using the internet while on a business trip out of town
  • Multiple internet connections in one office
  • Travelling salesman
  • Connecting iPads to the internet at public events

If I have internet on my phone, do I still need a portable hotspot?

Is an unlocked hotspot important?

Yes. That is the reason that we only carry unlocked portable hotspots. If your device is restricted to a plan, it will limit your options both as the pleasure-hotspot user and as a business-hotspot consumer. In addition, you won’t be able to use your hotspot with the best and most affordable plans and you won’t be able to use your hotspot overseas. Without an unlocked device, you will be stuck to using your hotspot on the most minimalist level.

How do I buy and activate my hotspot?

We have a collection, click the link to view our hotspots. You can purchase whichever hotspot you prefer. Because all of our hotspots are unlocked, all you need to so to activate the hotspot, is insert the sim card. It is literally that easy.
