1. How to factory reset my device

  1. Press the ‘Apps’ menu option

Your device must have a Google account set up in order to download apps.

To add an app:

  1. Press the ‘Play Store’ app
  2. Type in the app you’d like to download or look for ideas in categories listed towards the upper half of the screen.
    • You may press on the desired app to learn more about it and then install it by pressing ‘Install’
  3. To download, press the 3 dots near the app name and press ‘Install’.
  4. Press ‘Accept’
  5. Drag the app to the desired location and screen.

To remove an app:

  1. Hold down the app you’d like to un-install.
  2. Drag the app and drop it on the ‘Uninstall’ towards the top of the screen.

6. How to set a calendar event or delete it

To add a calendar event:

  1. Open the ‘Calendar’ app on the home screen.
  2. Press the orange (+) icon
  3. Add the events Name
  4. Next, add the events Location and it’s starting and finishing times
  5. Add notes or more details if you so desire
  6. Press ‘Save’

To delete a calendar event:

  1. Open the ‘Calendar’ app on the home screen.
  2. Press on the day that has the event you’d like to delete.

7. How to turn on or off airplane mode

  1. Press the ‘Apps’ menu option
  2. Slide and select the ‘Settings’ option.

  5. To disable: Press ‘Airplane Mode’ once more

Airplane Mode will turn off all forms of Data, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi. It will also disable any incoming or outgoing Calls and Texts.

8. How to take a picture

  1. Open the ‘Camera’ app on the home screen
  2. Point the device towards the object or person you’d like to photograph.
  3. Tap the screen to select the focal point.
  4. Press the lower volume key OR tap the screen to take the picture.
  5. To view the image:
    1. Open gallery or photos in the ‘Apps’ men
    2. While in the Camera app, slide to the right to open Gallery.
    3. Right after an image is taken, a circle will come up on the lower right side, click that to view the image.

    • MTP – Allows you to transfer files to and from a computer
    • PTP – Allows you to transfer all files or images (using the camera’s software) to and from a computer.

  1. Press the ‘Apps’ menu option.
  2. Slide and select the ‘Settings’ option.

  6. Next, Press the ‘Options’ icon (3 dots).

  8. The original APN settings will now restore.

APN settings are what permits a mobile device to connect to data service. Each company has their specific APN settings that must be applied in order to connect to them. To find out your networks APN settings, contact them or visit their stores.

A sign that APN settings are not accurate, is if there is little or no data service or MMS.

10E. How to use my mobile device as a hotspot

  1. Press the ‘Apps’ menu option
  2. Slide and select the ‘Settings’ option.
  3. Press ‘Tethering & Networks’ under ‘Networks’ section
  4. Then, Press ‘Mobile Hotspot’
  5. Press ‘Set up Mobile Hotspot’
  6. Personalize the name and password of your device hotspot
  7. Press ‘Save’
  8. Turn on Mobile Hotspot by toggling the ‘ON’ switch on the top of the screen
  9. Then, Press ‘Yes’
  10. Press ‘Enable’ to confirm

To connect to a mobile hotspot: Open Wi-Fi networks, press on the correct hotspots name and type in the password. Multiple devices may connect to a single mobile hotspot.

Warning: All connecting devices will use the mobile hotspot’s data and battery will drain quickly on the original device. Ensure the data plan has enough data to sustain multiple devices, such as being connected to Wi-Fi or having unlimited data. Otherwise you may be charged extra by the network provider.

  1. Press the ‘Apps’ menu option
  2. Slide and select the ‘Settings’ option.
  3. Wi-Fi will be found under the ‘Networks’ section
  4. Turn on the ‘Wi-Fi’ by pressing on the toggle button
  5. Press on the words ‘Wi-Fi’
  6. Select the desired Wi-Fi network
  7. Enter the Password. To see the password as you type, press on the ‘Show Password’ box.
  8. Press ‘Connect’
  9. Wi-Fi is now connected.

To disconnect from Wi-Fi:

  1. Do steps 1-2
  2. Turn off the ‘Wi-Fi’ by pressing on the toggle button.

To forget a network:

  1. Press on the network you are connected to
  2. Press ‘Forget’
  3. If desired, turn off the ‘Wi-Fi’ capabilities as stated above.

10G. How to turn on or off roaming

  1. Press the ‘Apps’ menu option
  2. Slide and select the ‘Settings’ option.

  6. Check off whichever of the two boxes suit your roaming needs

Suggestion: Roaming is not included in many network service plans and may cost the user. Many plans do have the option to add it if it were needed. When roaming, you may need to search for other available networks as the one you currently use may not be available.

  1. Press the ‘Apps’ menu option

To remove an account:

  1. Open the ‘Messaging’ App
  • To delete the thread: Hold down the thread and press the recycling bin to delete. Press ‘Delete.

  • To delete an individual message: Hold down the text to delete and press ‘Delete’. Press ‘Delete.

  1. Open the ‘Messaging App’
  2. Press the ‘Options’ icon (3 dots)
