When public WiFi hotspots first started appearing, it was like mobile device users had been given the keys to the world. No more disturbingly expensive data roaming charges, and speeds the like of which we’d never known outside the home. Unfortunately, as more and more people switched on to data-on-the-move, these public connections quickly became overcrowded and slowed to a point where it was like being back to the days of analogue modems and crawl-along speeds that made even simple tasks almost impossible.
But scouring the mall or airport for a free hotspot is no longer the chore it once was. With your own personal hotspot, you immediately increase speed, security and enjoy a better browsing experience. With the right data contract, you are looking at significant data allowances for just a few dollars a month without being tied into long term agreements that you need to die to get out of.
The Netgear Unite 4g LTE Mobile WiFi Hotspot lets you connect to over 200 networks worldwide by creating your own personal hotspot connection to a network carrier. Password protected and no worries about having a thousand other people all fighting for the same bandwidth, it’s the best way to get online when you’re off base.
You’re right, they are, but you really do get what you pay for. If someone else is going to the trouble of investing and installing the necessary equipment that you need to access the internet, they’re likely buying from the bargain bucket range than the a la carte menu. When you can get a 2GB data allowance for less than 30 bucks, with all that extra security and speed we mentioned AND the ability to let friends and family who are with you to also use your connection, it’s a no-brainer.
By the way, go abroad and those data allowances get bigger, faster and a whole lot cheaper.
If that sounds like an oxymoron, it really isn’t. Yes it can be unlocked yet AT&T branded and here is how.
AT&T saw the beauty in this device and wanted to own it for themselves. They asked Netgear to adjust this device to make it perfect for AT&T users. It even has their logo on it as well as well as some technology of theirs. Yet the downside to this, is that the buyer must go with them as a network. If they were to take it to any other company, they would be told that it’s a locked device and they need the unlock code to adjust that.
Here at Mr Aberthon, we did the groundwork for you. Instead of forcing you to stay with AT&T, even though it is a great network, we wanted you to have the choice to move to another if you so desire. Hence we unlocked it for you, taking care of it all. All that so that any GSM network will work with this Unite hotspot. We really mean it when we say that customer satisfaction means the world to us.

Any public hotspot is, by its nature, insecure. You have no idea who might be monitoring your activity or snagging your online banking login details. It also usually means signing up to a newsletter or other arrangement you didn’t want. With a hotspot created with the Netgear Unite 4g Mobile WiFi Hotspot, though, YOU decide who connects and YOU decide who doesn’t. Access can only be achieved via a password which you set and you even have a guest password which, once the user logs off the hotspot, then becomes invalid meaning you have ultimate control over who is using your precious data allowance!
With the ability to connect up to 10 devices, the whole family can reap the benefits of your Netgear Unite-created hotspot. Just remember it isn’t our fault that the device is so great that the all your data is used up watching Peppa Pig or America’s Next Top Model. Don’t shoot the digital messenger.
Mobile networks have evolved in recent years. The first data connections were known as 3G, which is still valid today in the occasional area that isn’t yet 4G connected. 4G, though takes browsing and streaming to a whole new level. 4G is up to 15 times faster than 3G and lets you do things instantly which you wouldn’t have dreamed of doing on 3G.
Ain’t no bodies turning cold on 4G.
Nobody ever made the decision to take their home broadband modem with them when they went on vacation. Many wish they could, but nobody ever actually did. At just a shade over 4 oz and smaller than a box of Raisinets, with the Netgear Unite 4G LTE WiFi Hotspot you can now effectively do just that. Just slip it in your pocket and you’re ready to go as soon as the mood takes you.
You don’t need to climb on a chair to get a signal, or hang out of a window. You don’t even need to take it out of your pocket. If there’s a 4G signal where you are, that’s all you need to get going.
The Netgear Unite 4G LTE Mobile WiFi Hotspot is so simple and easy to use, it’s hardly worth putting in a box, but we do anyway. As well as the Netgear Unite, you get a wall charger, a USB cable and a Quick Start guide that real men will never need.
The Netgear Unite is the kind of thing you’ll be happy to carry around wherever you go. Small, snappy and really quite sexy with it, you’ll be like a walking pile of big lovely data.
Q: How many devices can connect to the Unite Mobile at once?
A: There can be up to 10 devices connected at once. Since it is created for this purpose, there should be no lag due to multiple sign ons. Unless, of course, the data is running out.
Q: Can you explain the way the service works?
A: Sure, you would need to contact a network provider and buy monthly data allowances from them. They will give you a SIM card which you will then insert into the device. It will work for a month straight and once the month is over, you will need to pay for another month of service. If you take a months break, you can still use the same SIM card, but you will need to add more data to it via your provider.
Q: How do I prevent random people from logging on to my hotspot?
A: The only way that people can sign in, is if you shared with them your Wi-Fi password that you made for the hotspot. If they don’t have that information, they will be unable to log on. It is like any other locked Wi-Fi signal that a device detects but can not use unless it has permission to.
Q: Is this device unlocked?
A: Yes it is unlocked here on Mr Aberthon. It is AT&T branded, yet it will work just as well on any GSM network, such as AT&T, T-Mobile, Metro-PCS and the like. It will not work on CDMA networks such as Sprint and Verizon. If you are unsure regarding a network, find out if they are GSM. If they are indeed, then you are in luck.
Q: Is there a guest option on this hotspot?
A: Yes, with a guest option you can give someone a temporary password that only works for one time access. In addition, you can set it up in a way that will limit them to a certain time frame as well. The great thing with guest access, is that you can share your Wi-Fi in a temporary way.
Q: Does this work for an iPad?
A: This hotspot gives off Wi-Fi. Therefore, any device that can connect to Wi-Fi can get its signal. That includes laptops, phones, iPods, iPads, Tablets and more.
Q: Where will this hotspot work?
A: It will receive its signal when it is range of network towers. If there is no cell phone coverage, the likelihood is that this device also won’t work. However these days most places are well covered so the Unite Mobile will be great!
